How do the picnics work?
It’s easy! Simply head to our booking page and fill in the required details. Once we’ve received your booking request, we’ll review it and reach out to confirm any specifics before locking in your picnic. As soon as it’s confirmed, you’ll receive an email with all the details as well as payment details.
From there, all you have to do is turn up at your picnic at the start of your booking time! We’ll take care of the entire setup and send you a message to confirm the exact location. We’ll be nearby at the start of your booking to make sure you find it – we won’t intrude, but we’ll be on standby if you need us.
At the end of your session, simply hop up and take your personal belongings with you. We’ll pack everything up!
Are there group size limits?
We do our best to cater for all group sizes and occasions. Online pricing is provided for up to 10 guest, but feel free to contact us if you have a larger group.
Do you supply food?
Yes! When submitting a booking request you will have the option to choose a catered or non-catered picnic.
Our catered picnics include a variety of fresh fruit & veg, dips, cold meats and savoury snacks. The perfect picnic accompaniment!

Can I bring my own food and drinks?
Absolutely! While we do have our own food offerings, you are more than welcome to bring your own as well (or instead!).
What about alcohol?
While we can’t provide alcohol, you are allowed to bring your own so long as it is permitted in the location you have chosen for your picnic. If you wish to bring alcohol, we strongly encourage you to check the local regulations prior to choosing a location. We are not responsible for any infringements related to the consumption of alcohol.
Where can I have my picnic?
The options are limitless! Canberra is full of great locations for a picnic, whether it be down by one of the many lakes or nestled cozily in the abundant park lands. You could even host a picnic in your own backyard! As long as the land is available for public use or permission has been given by the owner you’re all good to go. We’re happy to suggest a few great locations if you can’t decide.
How do I book?
Submitting a booking request online is the easiest. Simply use the booking form to submit a request. We’ll be in touch to finalise details after that. If you’d rather contact us directly to make a booking that’s perfectly fine too! You can find us on Instagram or email us at email@example.com.
What if the weather is bad?
If the weather doesn’t behave, there’s no need to worry – we’ll organise to reschedule your booking. We offer rescheduled bookings due to rain, strong winds and other extreme weather. We recommend keeping an eye on the forecast (we will too!). Alternatively we can bring the picnic to you. We’re more than happy to work with you if you’d like an indoor setup in your own home. Let us know in advance if you have any concerns.
Can I cancel my booking?
Made a booking but can no longer make it? That’s ok – life happens. We’ll try to accommodate rescheduling where we can, as long as you give us enough notice. Refunds will only be offered if within the cancellation period (see full T&Cs for details). Refunds will be issued for the full value of your booking minus any booking fees charged by the payment service you paid with initially.

Full Terms & Conditions
Please read our Terms and Conditions carefully prior to booking with Canberra Picnic Company. By booking with us you agree to accept these Terms and Conditions.
Smoking on or near the picnic setups is not permitted at any time.
No pets are permitted on the pinic setups at any time.
No heating, cooling or open flames are permitted on or near the picnic setup at any time.
Canberra Picnic Company only accepts bookings from persons over 18 years of age.
All guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult who has parental rights and responsibilities.
Canberra Picnic Company reserves the right to refuse a booking at any time without statement of reasons.
Bookings and Payments
All fees and charges are in Australian dollars and are subject to change at any time.
Full payment is required to fully secure your booking date. Full payment is due within 3 days of your booking. If you have not paid in full by such time, your appointment will be cancelled.
Bookings made through a promotion or with the use of a discount count are subject to availability. While every effort will be made to accommodate the customer’s preferred time slot, Canberra Picnic Company reserves the right to accept or decline such bookings for any reason.
We permit cancellations within the nominated cancellation period. This is generally 7 days, but may vary with the size of your booking.
In the event of bad weather, you may nominate an indoor venue for the event to be set up in. Alternatively, you may reschedule your event to another available timeslot of equivalent value. If you wish to reschdule to a more expensive time slot, additional fees will be applied to the value of the difference in price between the originally booked slot and the newly requested slot.
Booking Commencement and Conclusion
Bookings will commence at the agreed upon time in your booking and will extend for the duration specified in your order. You agree to vacate the picnic setup area no later than the end time specified in your order.
By ordering with us, you agree to take responsibility for all equipment used in the set up from commencement time for the duration of your booking and the equipment must not be left unattended at any point during the booking.
You must notify Canberra Picnic Company when you are intending to vacate the setup so that the equipment is not left unattended.
Canberra Picnic Company will set up, decorate, furnish and pack down the picnic.
You are not permitted to set up or pack down any equipment without explicit permission from Canberra Picnic Company.
Canberra Picnic Compant will dispose of rubbish at the conclusion of the booking session, but any rubbish must be contained within the picnic setup and the setup must not be left in a messy condition.
No personal items are to be lift in the vicinity at the conclusion of the booking session.
Canberra Picnic Company will inspect the picnic furnishings and other equipment for any damage or loss of equipment at time of booking conclusion and additional costs may be incurred as a result of damage or loss (including excessive soiling). By booking with us you agree to pay any and all costs associated with the required cleaning, repair or replacement of damaged or lost equipment.
Assumption of Risk
While safety is given great consideration, accidents can happen and Canberra Picnic Company is not held responsible for such accidents (to the greatest extent permitted by law). It is the hirer’s responsibility to supervise children.
If you notice any equipment or furnishing that appears faulty and/or unsafe you must inform Canberra Picnic Company accepts no responsibility for theft, loss or damage, of whatever nature, of your personal items during your booking.
Creative ownership / intellectual property
Canberra Picnic Company has creative ownership of all work produced by Canberra Picnic Company.
Canberra Picnic Company reserves the right to photograph all setups and to keep and use those photographs for any purpose including but not limited to social media posts, for use on their website, and for marketing of Canberra Picnic Company in any capacity.
If Canberra Picnic Company produces work at a private residence, the hirer gives Canberra Picnic Company permission to take photographs and use those photographs for any purpose as above. The hirer agrees that they have sought this permission from owner of the private residence if they are not the owner.
Any photos taken of work by Canberra Picnic Company by other parties, including but not limited to the client, other vendors/businesses, and guests of the event must not be used to promote another business without the explicit permission of Canberra Picnic Company. Use of any photos in any capacity which contain work produced by Canberra Picnic Company must give credit to Canberra Picnic Company within their use.
Third Party Bookings
If third party bookings, such as catering, are made by Canberra Picnic Company on the hirer’s behalf, the hirer agrees to and is bound by the full terms and conditions of the third party (including payment of deposits and cancellation policies).
All damage to the park or open space areas is to be repaired at the expense of the person whom makes the online booking. An invoice will be issued to the event host if not rectified to satisfaction of TCCS; and
Event host should be aware of the financial risks associated with damage to the park or park assets such as turf damage or irrigation damage as a result of the event.
Authority to Sign
The person whom makes the online booking certifies that he or she is authorised to agree to the Terms and Conditions on behalf of all persons included in the activity.
This person is over the age of 18.
They agree to take full responsibility for the picnic furnishings and equipment along with the persons present at the event for the duration of the booking.
